Sharon Tait is the driving force behind D L Tait Rural Enterprises; a family run business based in Thornhill, Dumfries and Galloway.

D L Tait Rural Enterprises is named in memory of her parents  - David and Liz Tait.

​

As a family, outdoor country pursuits such as horse riding and warm home-style hospitality were key aspects which Sharon shared fondly with both her parents and which she dreamt of pursuing following her retirement from Police Scotland in 2021 after 30 years service.

​

David and Liz reignited the idea and suggested Sharon look at the Old Auction Mart in Thornhill, near where they lived, as the perfect base for her various business ideas; aires, accommodation, livery and arena.

Unfortunately, David and Liz passed before seeing Sharon's ideas come to fruition, but their inspiration now lives on in the business name; D L Tait Rural Enterprises
